Installing a new central heating system or boiler requires a high degree of experience and knowledge, a high level of qualification and skill. Central heating systems can include components such as domestic hot water cylinders, condensing boilers, pressurized systems and internet digital controls. Our Gas Safe engineers are fully qualified and trained to design and install new central heating systems with these factors in mind.
COMBI BOILERS
More commonly known as a combinational boiler. These are the most popular kind of boiler in the United Kingdom. These type of boilers provide heat and hot water without the need of extra water tanks or cylinders which take up space.
Combination boilers are more suited to flats and smaller properties and are relatively compact in size.
Combination boiler installations are usually a cheaper option to install because almost everything is contained in the boiler which negates the requirement for fitting additional tanks in the property.
One of the features of combination boiler is that there is no store of hot water, as it is produced on demand. This may not suit all properties if there is a high demand to use hot water in different bathrooms at the same time. Greater demands for hot water at the same time can be better suited to systems boilers.
SYSTEM BOILERS
Commonly known as sealed system, this system comes with a water cylinder which stores hot water awaiting demand. One of the advantages of this type of heating system is having the ability to run hot water from multiple taps at the same time. The cost of the this type of system will normally be more expensive than that of a combination installation as there are more component parts to fit to the system. For people in larger homes though this is often a very good alternative.
CONVENTIONAL BOILERS
Conventional boilers are known as regular boilers. Conventional boilers have both a cylinder and a tank, which can be located in the loft space. These are found in homes that require hot water in more than one room at the same time.
CONDENSING BOILERS
Condensing boilers are not a specific boiler type – it’s a feature of a condensing boiler. Condensing boilers are extremely energy efficient as they capture heat from the condensing water vapour in the exhaust gases and re-use it. They achieve high efficiency (typically greater than 90% on the higher heating value).
All our workmanship is guaranteed for 5 years providing Gregson & Son carry out an annual service on the boiler and maintain the system annually.
We can offer extended Manufacturer’s Warranties of up to 10 years on leading makes and models of boilers.
